JAMB cancels results, Reschedule Late Applicants
The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board chairman, Prof Oloyede Is-haq announced at a news conference at the end of an extensive meeting held with external examiners and other stakeholders that the board after due investigations has cancelled the results of about 59,698 candidates who sat for the examination on cases of examination malpractices and other ofences. he further noted that the board has also blacklisted 48 computer based-test (CBT) centres over their involvement extortion and organized examination malpractices during the 2017 examination. in his words,
the delisting of 48 centres from participating in the board's examination in future is as a result of serious technical deficiencies, extortion, organized examination malpractices and other damaging infractions.while another 24 centres were suspended for the 2018 examination.
Meanwhile, the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board has scheduled the supplementary examination for late registrants for July 1st. Prof Oloyede added that some of the candidates whose results were cancelled, would also take part in the examination, saying after critical review of the circumstance under which such candidates sat for the exam.
The candidates whose results were cancelled but would take part in the re-scheduled exam are the candidates of centres with mass malpractice but who are deemed innocent, non-verification/machine related issues, log out issues,incomplete results and student who lost examination session due to malfunctioning of servers at the affected centres.
